Awareness Raising and Advocacy
- Interactive sessions on Human Rights, Women Rights, Brick Kilns Right , Health and environmental awareness are regularly held with the communities of Shalimar and Wagha Town
- Aaghaz Foundation is member of convening committee of Alliance for Human Development, Lahore which focuses to address the issues of violence against women
- Aaghaz Theater performs street and interactive theaters on the issues of violence against women, child labour, CCBs etc.
- Aaghaz Foundation is also an active member of other advocacy forums including Pakistan Social Forum, Punjab NGOs Coordination Council, Pak-India Peace Forum, Citizens Action Committee and Joint Action Committee for Peoples Rights
Health and Education
- Aaghaz Foundation is running 10 Community primary and adult Literacy Schools for needy childrens, with support of government institutions and local philanthropists
- Regularly organize medical camps with support of Doctors Association and different pharmaceutical companies in Shalimar and Wagha Town
- Organize awareness sessions on HIV/AIDS & T.B.
Strengthening of Local Government Institutions
- Provided training to union councils particularly women and labour councilors on their roles and responsibilities in Lahore and Vehari.
- Formed a network of CCBs in city district Lahore.
- Providing regular assistance to CCBs in registration, project formation and management
House Hold survey
1. Purpose of Event
The prime purpose of this activity was
To collect data from the fields
To know about the views of local communities regarding electoral system and their problems
To take possible recommendation from people about the electoral reforms
1. SAMPLING
A process of conducting this household interview survey was to define the population where to conduct this research and household survey. So project area was distributed into different cluster and furthers more in primary sampling units. With a sample size of 36 primary sampling units out of four tehsil of Jhang district. Whereas the targeted population from each primary sampling units was to conduct the interview of 16 households. Research team was formulated by the Aaghaz Foundation (AF) based on two youth volunteers with equal gender (Male & female).
Sampling Distribution and Clustering
Data was collected using structured Household Interview survey while population was also divided into different cluster and called primary Sampling Units (PSUs).
1) District level: Random selection in each district proportional to the number of tehsil demarcated in each district.
2) Urban/Rural level: Proportional to urban/rural population size in each district.
3) Intra-district level: Random selection of settlements in each district.
4) Gender distribution: almost Proportional to gender ratio.
INTERVIEWS
All data was collected by youth volunteers which identified and trained in the start of the project. Teams were formulated which consisted on two pairs ( Male-female) and one supervisors. Aaghaz Foundation dispatched 02 quality-control officers to verify fieldwork conducted by volunteers at the field of district Jhang. The data collection commenced on October 26, 2015 and was completed by November 30,2015
HOUSEHOLD SELECTION
At each sampling point, enumerators and supervisors picked easily recognizable landmarks, such as a bazaar, streets, as the starting point of the survey. In field areas, enumerators traveled in an assigned direction, stopped at the first day first street, second day second street onward to seven day seven street on the right hand side and selected the first day first house second day second house and seven day and seven house on the left. Systematic random sampling was used for selection of households.

Challenges
During house hold survey Fasialabad and jhang team were face many problems that’s some of them given below.
• While scattered area remains the most important issue of District Fasialabad and Jhang household survey.
• It was difficult to reached that place but after reached their and start work people never know about this HHs After introduction of HHs and Organization and request them to give some information but people think in wrong way and refused to give and information after lot of request people give some information people think that team use their information in wrong way.
• The perception of people about electoral reforms were so limited.
• People did not receive sufficient information in preparation for previous elections. Only some persons said they had enough information to participate on Election Day.
• They also require more information and understanding about their representatives in the National Assembly and about the legislative activity in parliament.
• A majority of people believe the country needs a new electoral law.
Achievements
• People of community were cooperated.
• Youth volunteers team got a chance to learn many thing from that survey
• Election commission also coopered given voter lists
• At the end supervisor completed tracking sheets and coding fill all the questionnaire then send to the Head office for further prospered.
